There is a large study on researching how garlic can lower cholesterol to a group of 220 patients. This group of patients has consumed 800mg garlic in powder form for 4 month continuously. The results shows that there is a 12percent average drop in cholesterol level of the group and 17% drop in the group triglycerides.
In Germany, garlic is one of the licensed medicine for atherosclerosis (which is caused by LDL cholesterol). Another research done in Munich University that when garlic added into the low cholesterol and low fat diet for the patient, it can see a further 10% drop compared to low cholesterol diet without garlic.
